Compared to traditional open surgery methods, Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery is performed through small incisions. The surgeon is seated at a console adjacent to the patient. A camera provides a high definition 3-D view inside the patient’s body. The daVinci system translates every movement the surgeon makes in real-time to bend and rotate the instruments performing the procedure. Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery has the potential to minimize postoperative pain, decrease blood loss and speed up recovery time.
